It’s been a while, hasn’t it? If you’ve been wondering where I’ve been and why the usual cadence of articles slowed down, let me take you behind the curtain of the last few months—a period of intense transformation, challenge, and renewal.
The Year of the Abyss
2024 ended with an audacious experiment: I fully stepped into my role as a psychedelic trip sitter and therapist. What started as a deep fascination with altered states, integration work, and personal transformation became a full-fledged profession. It’s one thing to read about the power of psychedelics to heal; it’s another to guide others through the raw, unfiltered reality of their own minds.
Between this, my regular job, and—most importantly—being a father to a new soul in this world, my time and energy were stretched to their absolute limits. The blog, my beloved corner of thought and philosophy, had to take a backseat.
But time was not the only challenge.
Staring Into the Abyss
As a sitter and guide, you don’t just walk with people through cosmic light and blissful ego death. You also stand at the edges of their personal hells. In the depths of a psychedelic experience, people confront everything—childhood traumas, suppressed fears, self-hatred, regrets, and sometimes, something even darker. True evil, buried deep inside human hearts.
I have always believed in personal transformation, in the alchemy of the soul, in the Hermetic and Buddhist notion that darkness can be transmuted into light. And it worked wonders. But facing so much suffering, so much human frailty—so many demons, both metaphorical and perhaps even literal—took its toll.
I needed a break. A serious one.
The Great Retreat
And so, for the past month, I did something radical: I disappeared. No sessions, no articles, no work. Just family, rest, and writing. I stepped away from everything that wasn’t essential and focused on what truly mattered.
I poured myself into my book, "Psychedelics for Beginners", a project that has been brewing in my mind for a long time. This book will serve as a practical guide for those seeking to explore altered states with intention, wisdom, and respect. It’s my way of giving back to the psychedelic community—a lighthouse for those setting sail into the unknown.
Where We Go From Here
Now, I’m back. The book is in its final stages, my family is happy and thriving, and I’m ready to pick up where we left off. If you’ve missed the articles, you’re in luck: I’ll be making up for lost time. Expect a return to regular posts, fresh insights, and new explorations into Hermetic Buddhism, psychedelic magic, personal transformation, and the mysteries of the mind.
Thank you for sticking with me. This blog, this community, this journey we’re on together—it still matters. More than ever.
Let’s get back to work.
Love,
Felix
