‘Meditation pro tip: instead of noting "breathing, thinking, sitting, feeling" etc, u can just continually note "crazy how nature do that"‘
A Journey Beyond Traditional Noting
Ah, the glories of meditation, a multitude of techniques and practices, each promising a path to inner peace, enlightenment, or a deeper understanding of the self and the universe.
Among these, vipassana noting meditation has long stood as a cornerstone practice for many. Yet, I've recently embarked on an unconventional twist to this age-old method, one that has profoundly transformed my perception of the world around me: a meditation on wonder, encapsulated in the simple mantra, "Crazy how nature do that."
Embracing Wonder in Every Moment
This method diverges from the traditional noting of "breathing, thinking, sitting, feeling" and instead invites a continuous acknowledgment of the wonder in everyday phenomena.
Whether observing the intricate dance of the 12 links of dependent origination together with Daniel, understanding the origin of suffering, or perceiving the emptiness of self, other, world, time, and awareness, the response remains the same: "Huh... crazy how nature do that."
The practice of this meditation on wonder has unveiled a series of unexpected benefits, enriching my daily life with a newfound sense of amazement and appreciation. Here are some insights gained through this journey:
Heightened Awareness: By continuously marveling at the world around me, I've noticed an increase in my overall mindfulness and presence. This constant state of wonder keeps me fully engaged in the present moment, deepening my connection with my surroundings.
Enhanced Creativity: Approaching the world with an attitude of wonder has unlocked creative avenues previously unexplored. The mundane becomes fascinating, and in this fascination, I find inspiration for creative expression in writing, art, and problem-solving.
Emotional Resilience: Observing the world through a lens of wonder has cultivated a more positive outlook on life. Challenges and obstacles are now opportunities for awe and learning, making it easier to navigate life's ups and downs with grace and optimism.
Deeper Connection to Nature: This practice has fostered an improved bond with the natural world. From the blossoming trees in spring to the intricate patterns of frost on a windowpane, I find myself continuously in awe of nature's artistry. Nature be amazing at doing that.
Increased Enjoyment of Life: Perhaps the most transformative benefit of this meditation on wonder has been a substantial increase in my overall enjoyment of life. By marveling at the world's complexity and beauty, I've learned to savor each experience, whether grand or small. This practice has taught me to find joy in the simplicity of a dewdrop, the laughter of passersby, and even the patterns of light and shadow playing across urban architecture.
Life, in all its facets, has become richer and more fulfilling, infused with a sense of wonder that makes every day an adventure worth experiencing. This continuous acknowledgment of the miraculous in the mundane has not only deepened my appreciation for life but has also made it a lot more enjoyable.
Try it!
Wondering Through the Cityscape
My daily runs through the city in springtime have become a moving meditation of wonder. As I navigate the bustling streets, every sight becomes a subject of contemplation and marvel - the way trees burst into bloom, the rhythm of my legs propelling me forward, the stark contrast of the blue sky against the urban landscape, and the coexistence of beauty and grit within the city. Each observation, each moment of awe, reinforces the mantra, "Crazy how nature do that."
A Life Transformed by Wonder
This meditation on wonder has not just altered my practice; it has transformed my entire approach to meditation. By replacing detailed noting with a continuous sense of amazement, I've discovered a more profound, joyous way to engage with the world. It's a reminder that beneath the surface of the ordinary lies an extraordinary tapestry of existence, waiting to be acknowledged and appreciated.
In sharing this journey, I invite you to explore the wonders that surround you, to let your mind be overtaken by awe, and to see the world anew. Whether you're traversing nature's paths or navigating the complexities of urban life, remember that wonder is everywhere - it's just a matter of noticing it. "Crazy how nature do that," indeed.
Thanks, Daniel ;)

Felix
This fills me with such a joy to find out that I am meditating naturally almost every day 😃 But jokes aside this is an article I can get behind, there is so much truth to the statement below.
"This constant state of wonder keeps me fully engaged in the present moment, deepening my connection with my surroundings."
This hyper awareness makes me feel so grounded, connected and appreciative of everything.
