In the arena of modern spirituality and self-awareness, there's an intriguing - if not outright catastrophic - dichotomy between external attribution of control and personal responsibility. This article is a continuation of our "Spiritual Self-Defense" series in a way but not quite, delves into understanding who "they" are and why relinquishing power to these external forces can be a self-sabotaging trap.
Unraveling the "They"
"They" could be the Illuminati, Jews, freemasons, Satanists, politicians, archons, extraterrestrial beings, shadow governments, or any number of mythical or real groups. The theories range from the plausible to the outlandish - from global elites manipulating economies to lizard people ruling the world in disguise. These narratives often present a world where unseen forces control every aspect of life, from politics to personal freedom.
This causes the dilemma of the externalization of power. There's a tendency among some to externalize control, summarizing life's challenges with phrases like "they keep me down" or "they want us poor and uneducated." This mindset, while understandable as a coping mechanism, leads to a state of learned helplessness. Individuals stuck in this loop often find themselves in a perpetual state of complaint, unable to initiate even the smallest change for the better in their circumstances and with an all-powerful excuse to boot. It is not me - it’s “them”
To those caught in this cycle of blame and helplessness, it's crucial to realize the power of personal responsibility. The first step is to stop looking outward for excuses. While it's easy to blame external forces for our struggles, the truth is that the most significant power we have is over our minds and bodies. And thus, over our circumstances. Even if “they” are really out there to get you, you can still thrive and improve.
Taking the First Steps
Begin with small, actionable steps. Even the simplest exercises or the most basic spiritual practices can lead to significant changes over time. It's about shifting the focus from the external "they" to the internal "I". Embrace the idea that "I am the creator of my reality."
"You are in the position you're in because of YOU. Quit looking outside of yourself for excuses. Take control back over your life."
This statement may seem daunting, but it's liberating. In acknowledging that you are the only causal power in your universe, you reclaim the power to change your life. Responsibility is not a burden; it's the greatest power you possess. Take it back from them!
Approach life as if it were a piece of art, a masterpiece that you're creating day by day. Every choice, every action, is a brushstroke in this grand design. By taking responsibility and embracing your power as a creator, you can transform your life into a beautiful, fulfilling journey.
While external blame narratives can be enticing and offer a great coping mechanism, they ultimately disempower us. By recognizing and embracing our own power and responsibility, we open the door to true freedom and self-mastery. Remember, the journey to empowerment begins with a single step – your step. Take it now, and watch your life transform.

Felix
