Cool, a synchronicity.

I don’t think a book has affected me so much in a very long time. Normally I make notes as I read but with this I quickly knew that I would read it many times and think about it a lot, so I just let it sink in.

I agree with you, I think the judge partakes in all this violence in order to reduce the world to almost nothing at all apart from pain and desire and then to stand there and witness it, but we can be more conscious and deliberate.

I really enjoyed "the kid"s ark - the way he just slips through life to him starting to question it and himself and struggling to give the violence (and his life) a meaning. At the same time, he can't leave it behind. I sometimes wonder if the kid managed to grow into a man.

As for synchronicity - blood meridian was recommended to me by a friend that also recommended me a book called "when we cease to understand the world" by Benjamin Labatut an I really liked that one as well. Maybe you would enjoy that one too ;)

I just read Cormac McCarthy’s Blood Meridian and, strangely, I think this is what it is about. On one level it’s a story of endless violence in the lawless West, but as it proceeds this is the issue the main protagonists are exploring- what it means to know yourself and to do what you want.

Strangely, I have finished that book about a month ago. It is indeed a lot about self-discovery. And I kinda liked the book a lot.

I would say that the trick here is that the difference is to do it on purpose and with strategy. Exploring and integrating the depths of my mind and the subagents that are at play there.

Why would revealing your desire weaken it? Whenever I talk about something it tends to strengthen.

I would say that it largely depends on who are you sharing it with. If the people are supportive or have your name generally connected with success, it may strengthen it. But if you share your desire with people and they don't believe you, doubt you, envy you, and imagine you fail, they are actually manifesting your downfall.

Hence we must be careful about this. It is also one of the reasons why secret societies are secret and exclusive.

My innermost desires are so out-there that no one would believe in their success and even if they did I'm now willing to risk them sabotaging me =) and while I have plenty of lesser goals I can share, some are better kept hidden.

Also, I would say it is generally good to have few secrets ;)
